Amphoralis Museum

Located about twelve kilometers north of the ancient capital Narbo Martius, Amphoralis is a former workshop for the production of Gaulish amphorae, first uncovered in 1976. Its museum overlooks the archaeological remains of an ancient pottery factory (1st–3rd centuries).
Visitors can discover the daily lives and work of the potters who mass-produced wine amphorae, as well as various construction materials (bricks, tiles) and everyday tableware. In the park, an outdoor trail leads to reconstructions of kilns and a Gallo-Roman dwelling, built to match the excavated remains. The Potters' Garden features over 160 plant species documented by Latin agronomists, categorized by their five different uses: food, medicinal, culinary (herbs and spices), ornamental, and craft. A walk through the arboretum offers a chance to see the types of wood used at the time to fire the potters' kilns.
